IMG_4309.jpeg Not sure how to get my 13’6” rig to Fort Totten NY when the bridges are 12’11” that lead to it. I dont see a path that doesn’t involve those two low bridges

    what am I missing?

That's a parkway and you can't be on parkways in NY/NJ with a commercial truck.

Looks like the road into that facility is posted at 12'11" on a yellow sign. That means it should actually be 13'11". I would contact your delivery and I bet trucks go under that bridge just fine.

NY state posts all bridges under 14' actual height at 1 foot less. Technically it isn't legal to go under the bridge if you are above the posting but there is no other path to that facility besides going under the bridge on Totten Ave.

All of the above offered general height info tracks with a conversation I had with a coworker -- just this past week.

"Parkways" are indeed forbidden for big rigs in that area.

Call your receiver and ask for directions.

The parkway service drive is legal to drive on; the parkway itself is not. He can take 295 to the service drive but the bridge is the problem, so I suggest he call his receiver and ask them.

That is correct, have to go down the clear view and flip around, Only way to do it. Been there many times, that is a tight turn when you come off that exit before the bridge, no issues with height. My stacks were 13’4” never had an issue. Do not by any means get on the parkway.
