For those of you in newer low voltage trucks (2013-2014 Pete's or KWs specifically), has anyone figured out how to hook up a radio that runs a few more watts in their radio without popping fuses? Looking to setup some ham gear that will pull between 100-200 watts. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Your best bet is to hook your radios straight to the battery. This will ensure they have all the power they need and you're not taxing the truck's wiring in the dash for current draw.

I suggest you check out The N8XJK Super Booster from stores.tgelectronics.org and reading up Alan Applegates (k0bg) www.k0bg.com read up on Alternators & Batteries -- Bonding -- OTR & RV--
Photo Gallery -- and Wiring & Grounding. Very interesting reads that will not only answer your post but provide you some great ideas. Aim High!

What kind of equipment are you going to put in the truck?

My installs have been all done right to the batteries, properly fused and with proper grounds.

By the way, the title of the thread is misleading.
