Questions to my trucking family. I'm new to the trucking industry, and I have my own authority. I responded to an ad from a logistics company that would require me to cover my company name and MC# on my truck before picking up and dropping off their loads....essentially running under their MC #. At the same time they require me to have General Liability at $1M $100K Cargo Coverage (which I have) and list them on my COI. Is this normal??

    Nope
... whats the point to run under their MC if they require you to have general liability and cargo ... in this situation you should have only physical damage on you equipment ( .. and probably bobtail insurance)

In other news - 3M shares rise over increased sales of their 'Duct Tape' product . . . Back to you, Jeff.

I concur. It sounds like a white volvo situation with cheap settlements.

To the op, why did you get a truck and an authority without researching how to get work but now going on Craig’s list to find work?

A warning should talked about, authorities are like fishing poles, you can’t expect to get one then have the fish jump at you wanting to be eaten, you have to work for it. ©️

Too many drivers and arm chair owners think they will make big bucks by just getting a truck and authority need to stop and work on the source of work research before even looking for trucks, let allow filling out the paper work.

That’s a 3rd nope. Whoever’s name on the door is who is responsible for cargo and liability insurance. If they want their name on the door then they by law have to add you to their policy.
