As a company we have just as many if not more rules and regulations we need to follow than you guys!
We do not verify the previous 3 years to be jerks but, like Allow Me said, because the DOT requires us to. This includes any dates of unemployment (that is incredibly hard to do, avoid unemployment at all costs). If you went to a companies orientation and signed employment paperwork but never went back that still needs to be filled out on your application. What will happen is companies like that will show up on your DAC as Employed: 08/2014 - 08/2014 with a "Quit or dismissed during orientation". Just be up front about those circumstances and explain what happened, maybe the recruiter spun you a nice fairy tale or you found out the company was incredibly unsafe and non-compliant, good companies understand that and appreciate an operator who has high standards. Also your DAC is similar to sites like Theworknumber and driverfact (which any company worth their salt will pay for the VOE on) in that not everyone takes part. It helps and if the company is listed there covers it but a lot of companies are not.
Hope that helps. Sorry for the necro but this popped up in a search and seemed like a few people were a little confused on it.
