Pre emission s60 12.7 no problem starting with slight smoke that burns your eyes in cold weather. It idles fine but as soon as i get on the throttle it will misfire really bad with popping sounds. This happens only when it's cold during summer no issues at all. I have been debating timing issue what do you guys think no power loss once warmed up trucks runs good with plenty of power
issues
S60 white gray smoke with heavy misfire video included

It must be a 15:1 compression piston engine. When it was rebuilt they did a Lo Nox upgrade. ( Government Mandated ) They blow white. smoke and choke and spit when cold. It’s harmless, as and normal. Only way to get rid of it is to change to 16:5 pistons.

Your sure it’s never done it cold. What year is the engine?

Id start with checking cylinder temps at cold start. Sounds like injectors about to sheet the bed.
Actually start at battery and grounds. Them cylinder temps.

I'd suspect an injector dripping fuel after it has shut off. Another possibility is extremely low compression when cold. Does it stumble after starting? I'd so, I'd lean towards an injector issue.
