So a little reminder posted up at work today about the Safety Blitz being June 2 to 4.
The reminder also mentioned that if pulled into for inspection at the stations across the Ontario highways that we will be tested for alcohol and drugs.
Is this new? I could see this taking a very long time if this is true, to test each trucker for alcohol AND drugs.
Is this legit or am I misreading something in the fine print.
Thanks for your help, just curious, not a drinker or drugger.

I think they would need reasonable suspicion to do a drug and alcohol test?
-
So no I do not believe that to be true.
-
#### i just Google safetyblitz 2015 and it does state"drivers will be tested for drug and alcohol "
I can't see it being done as I thought that they would need reasonable suspicion .like you wer sluring or smelled like booze or pot? #### I guess us drivers no longer have the same rights as all the other citizens? -
I don't care they can go right ahead. Sit there and waste time while they should be hauling in the obviously not maintained trucks and the drivers who refuse to sleep. I should be either already home or on my way home empty by Tuesday.
-
Yeah other than drinking to much coffee they won't find anything else in mine.

Third last paragraph ... Looks like we will be peeing in cups and getting the breath test this year ... Are they even certified to do these tests? -
Maybe we should just say we don't have to pee. Park in their scale and fill it up.
-
Yeah I guess they will have qualified?? People there to do the test???? Will they give tests results on the spot?. I don't have anything to hide but I have to say that this is pissing me off!!! No pun intended.
-
If I'm empty and they demand I pee in the cup .. I'm going to sit there as long as possible ... Hope if it happens it does at the Milton or a small scale where they can only fit a few trucks as it is.
Macneil Thanks this.
