    Have you talked to ABF? Likely you will still run West in the winter, but they are one of the better freight jobs in my opinion.
    @LtlAnonymous
    Do you know much about the Denver terminal?

    People still do that?!?! I remember when everyone running the mountains in "single screw" trucks with doubles and triples chained up in winter.. Hmmm... Chaining once a night sucked.. chaining three times a night really sucked... And I'm really not sure how a diff lock will work with one drive axle.. They didn't even spec jakes in those days.

    OK, a differential is that big metal bump between the duals. A diff lock makes it so power goes to both sets of duals instead of just one.

    there is a difference between a true diff lock and an interaxle power divider …

    Corn Flake and the Big R used single axle bobtail cabover daycabs pretty successfully over the passes for years to include using them as pushers and pullers for other trucks

    if you have to get towed over the pass to do your run, then the #### thing shouldn’t be allowed in the mountains.

    Still undecided, Lonesome and TB John Thank this.

    The equipment has, does, and will get over the mountain just fine. Whether it’s a single, tandem, or tridem tractor doesn’t have much to do with it. You missed the point of the post. Folks have been going over those passes in single axle day cabs for decades just fine.
