I have been training with swift for a week or 2 now, and I have talked to my 1 or 2 people about how much yearly salary you would make as a 1st year or 2nd year driver. They gave me numbers that seem untrue.
I have looked at the pay scale thing and have tried to calculate a ballpark of what I think I would actually make. I'm coming up with about 40k a year as a driver with little experience.

I have been told 90k is possible but I can't honestly believe that. So please, can anyone give me a realistic number of average pay for a new 1st year or maybe 2nd year driver. Is 40k too high? Too low? Thanks for the input.

    My calculation would be this:
    $0.35 x 2000 miles x 52 weeks= 36.5k

Poor 2,000 miles a week. I'd go nuts OTR and 2,000 a week. That's a solid 3 day week lol.

So you think 2000 is too low for an average weekly mileage? What would be better average

Far as I'm concerned anything less than 3k mi/week is a waste of time

2,000 is only 104,000 miles a year. IMO 125k+ plus is minimum. 130k is only 2500 a week. Most of us can do that in our sleep.

But as first year driver we do not have that much control over the miles were given except for being available to run them make sure we are on time (to the best of our ability) and safe.. I am just wondering what we can do as rookies to have input or get miles.

The best thing a rookie can do for the big paychecks right out of school is have all the endorsements, TWIC,passport, then hit the job market with all this on the application.

Sneakerfix and Big Papaxx Thank this.

I'm new so I'm still learning, but I figure 3800-4000 a week is like the max you can get driving assuming no lost time waiting or anything. Is that right? Not really accounting for speeding
