I was reading more about sba backed loans and according to their website, those loans are 8.5% plus 6 points for the amount im considering. 14.5% on a 150k isn’t exactly cheap. Is that where other lenders are at, 14.5% or so?

Should not be allowed in trucking, this is a high risk industry and the costs to cover the loans with a diminishing asset is on the backs of the taxpayers.
-
WOW. I didn't know you felt that way. That changes everything. It’s official, you’ve changed my mind
-
The SBA has a very good track record of recovering funds for the government from loans that went bad. The reason is that they demand good collateral, typically your house. And they will sell it to collect.
Try to explain that to your wife when your plans don't quite work out as you thought they should..... -
If you’re talking to me, we’ve had this conversation a time or two. My original question is are loans rates around the same as if using a sba lender? She’s already said pay off the mortgage or the truck before you come home because you ain’t coming in otherwise
-
Loan rates are all over the place. For the amount of security the SBA requires, their rates are not particularly cheap.
-
Right. To my point, those rates are high considering I would be putting up my home as collateral. It would be a different story if it was just the equipment but you want 14+% and my home to use you? I don’t think so.
Albertaflatbed Thanks this. -

i wouldn’t put my home up for anything,
especially a truck.
It’s hard to run a company on borrowed money, engine goes down 30-50k easy, right now you can buy a truck cheaper than an engine.Rookie driver 956, runningman0661 and HeyYou!!! Thank this. -
That’s very true. I guess what I am suggesting is SBA process is kind of archaic? Anyways.
