Don't know about that. But what happens if you bypass that Cat scale and then the state scale you were going to check your weight at is open? And your weights are screwed up? Then you are too.

I think they were yankin your chain. :As has already been mentioned, what if the scale house is open? Oregon is nice in that respect that they have a lot of rarely used scales where you can weigh a load, but they can be open when you least expect it.

I’m sure they would, they can’t make money off you if you go back and go across theirs legal, well actually I’m sure they will, it will just be for something else.

I have tractor/trailer load guages on my set up so I don’t even need to hit a cat scale unless I’m really close

I would use a CAT scale with the first load to give you a good idea of what the reading will be.
Then go to a DOT scale after that to fine tune the readings.
Most Oregon scales are turned on even when the shack is closed.

That’s surprisizing they’d allow you to use a scale unattended. You’d think they’d be worried about sabatage or it getting out of calibration. Texas barricades them up. For once it sounds like the dot actually trusts drivers to do the right thing. Lol!

Yeah Oregon is nice like that. Many states don't even show you your own weight when they're open. I hate that.
