Scania has built a R770 spec for USA with 770 HP and 2700 torque I think they said. It also has a liftable drive axle that is also powered. They say it has no EGR and no DPF I believe. It has DEF and meets all new emissions.

I remimber seeing these road tested here in the states last year. Be intresting to see how they hold up and the cost per unit if you can pop a sleeper on them. If they are decent units after a couple years id look into them.
Most of the junk here state side is just that junk. Factory fresh shop queens. So they would be hard pressed to be worse. -
We need to stop being like europe. Its not healthy.
Puppage, RockinChair, kemosabi49 and 3 others Thank this. -
Looks like nice truck to me 770hp and less emissions. The sleeper is very small compared to US trucks today. If it’s better build quality.

Most stuff coming out of Europe no longer has EGR and just regular waste gated turbos. They let the engine work and breathe well enough to produce virtually no smoke and then they clean up all the NOx with the SCR system.
IMO that's one of the few things Europe has gotten right when it comes to vehicles.mjd4277, Cattleman84, Numb and 5 others Thank this. -

I’d buy one. It’s ugly but trucks are tools. And that’s a big hammer.
mjd4277, RockinChair, broke down plumber and 1 other person Thank this. -
Edison has recently partnered with Scania to use their engines in the Edison hybrid truck.

With some of the new Stage V stuff we're seeing make its way over here they've added a DPF of sorts to catch the ultra fine particles.
broke down plumber Thanks this.
