Schneider closing driving schools

Schneider is hurting...big time right now.

They have yards full of empty trucks. I doubt they look to fill most of them.

Their logistics move into the China based market. Has crippled their cash flow on a global level.

 

And we on the forum have known this was coming for a while too!

 

gee aint that just great.. I talked to a Schneider rep 2 weeks ago and she told me that a class was starting in Feb. Now I hear this?? I hope that this is just talk. I got my bags packed and even slapped momma on the butt, now it sounds like I gotta kiss it all over again(LOL). Pray for the best and hope there is a cure.....

 

Looks like you got some miles under your belt. It's just the trainees they are doing away with. They are taking experienced drivers still.

 

Just wondering if anyone has any current (2/15/09) info on the status of Schneider hiring of new school grads....not students but inexperienced...

If I were you I would call them and ask. That kind of info doesn't get leaked out to easily. A phone call can't hurt and it may save some headache.

keep me informed as well. I'm from New York and got my CDL with tanker and hazmat in late Jan. Schneider was my first pick, but they aren't hiring new grads, the last time I checked.
