I do not agree with that I have been with Schneider sometime now I have refused numerous loads IE: New York City and the whole state of Jersey plus some short loads IE: 134 miles live on both ends, Authough they will work on ya a bit to try and get you to change your mind if you Refuse the load a half hour or so usualy you will get a longer one, I try to set My goal # 500 miles a day, If I can get that I am not in a grumpy mood, But they have NEVER forced me as a Owner Op or a Lease Operator. Bobby Is My STL and he will even jump in and start Laying into the planners.

NEITHER! That is just our opinion. We have talked to too many people from Werner and he worked for Schneider. He doesnt like either. He is with Western Express right now and he already hates it. Essentially the choice is yours though.

Schneider doesn't have automatics. They are testing a few now in the van division. There is a rumor they will switch over to all automatics this year or next for only the vans. Bulk will stay manual because they don't have an auto that is strong enough to last with the liquid surge.
Schneider's training program is PTDI certified and you do get a PTDI certificate when you complete the training. -
I say go with Schneider,my son drove for them and has nothing but good to say about them. For Gods sake do not even consider Swift,I did a short stint with them and they are no darn good.

Does Schneider run flatbeds? Or just vans and bulk? I looked at the website and it looks like vans and tankers only. Swift and Rhoel operate flatbeds, I believe. I am thinking about applying to Schneider for training, and sort of preferred flatbeds.

They sold their glass hauling/flatbed business to Maverick.

hmm... I didn't know that. they still advertise for the glass hauling fleet I thought. MAverick sure is turning out to be a pretty decent co tough.

i started at 29 cents/mile, after 2 yrs i was making 35 cents/mile with schneider. they recently increased the pay package, so start off is a lot higher. those companies paying 42 cents/mile start off generally dont run as many miles, so the extra pay is simply compansation for extra down time. 33 cents/mile is definately fair for start off pay. especially with little to no experience.

schneider sold specialized division to maverick. trks and trailers as well as glass hauling customer base.
