Newbie_2012, We have to do what we have to do, but its not all bad the experience, going regional helps a ton, good luck to you and hope to see you in Texas.
SJ1985 Thanks this. -
Had someone ask me this yesterday so thought I would address it. Schneider will reimburse you for gas to travel to Dallas and Houston. If your training begins on a Fri they will put you up in the hotel starting on Thur. They pay for the hotel, the hotel provides a huge breakfast every morning, then when you are at the OC Schneider provides you with lunch from their cafeteria. They do the same thing for you in Houston with the hotel but that OC is small and has no cafeteria so they buy you Subway for lunch. When you go to Victoria they put you up in a hotel for 2 weeks. They were giving new hires on the Victoria account 5 paid "personal" days too.wowo6057 Thanks this. -
I'm curious how this will play out too, though the checks will come when they come and it isn't critical to me. The training week pays $500 and starts on 6/18 with a paid hotel, gas to get there, and two meals, then the following week they'll put me up in a hotel in Midland for two weeks, which is when I start getting paid the normal salary. My real concern is finding a place to live more permanently. Looking at what's available to rent, I sure hope I can find ANYTHING in the area. Seems really tough to get an apartment there. Almost all there is on craigslist is invitations to get on waiting lists and scams. I guess I could get a FEMA trailer and park it in a field somewhere with a generator, a water tank, a latrine, and outdoor shower, and my Verizon wifi hotspot. LOL

Thanks RD
Now that puts it in a different light. The recruiter I talked to said 100.00 a week for the time in Huston (said I would go there not Dallas) then 150.00 a day for training. Training would be however long it took me to catch on. Free hotel in Huston with Breakfast and lunch. I was told by an employee they will give you a SNI com-data card as soon as you get there and you can draw off (200 a week) which they take out of your first check. It will take me about 400 dollars to drive there (taking my pick-up) and what ever else so could probably do it on $600 - $800. (fuel and stuff to get there) I will leave the family behind and come back for them later so will need to just keep me going till all kicks in.
Where does the 1100 a week or 220 a day kick in? The recruiter I talked in said about 4 - 6 weeks. I am ready to launch but have a car payment and can not go 30 - 60 days on pennies. Please give me some good news. Also said I may hire in to a place called Ceuro, it's closer to San Antonio. I need to tell them yes or no soon, have very few lose ends to tie up here. Could move this Friday, lol -
I may get you some refferals yet. Lots of texans up here missin home. -
These guys have tanker endorsements and hazmat but no tanker experience. I see schnider haulin frac companies equipment but where in texas is schnieder hiring for oilfield tanker jobs? What oil companies are schnider pullin tankers for.

Schneiders doing mostly sand and crude, from what I can tell, kdc1899, both in the Permian Basin and the Eagle Ford Shale.

Thanks. So the sand is for drillers/frackers. Who is schnieder hauling crude for?
