Hello everyone,
I recently received an opportunity from a broker for dedicated runs on one hub and spoke lane, and I would greatly appreciate your advice on determining the appropriate rate. Here are the details:
1. 260 round trip miles
2. 30,000 lbs
3. requires 1 trailer
4. This is hub and spoke lane, with the load originating from the hub, delivering to the destination, reloading and returning to the hub.
5. The runs will operate 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, with one load per day
Your valuable input, suggestions, and any other insights related to pricing dedicated runs would be highly appreciated.

This varies widely for everyone. For example you can avg $1400/day OTR. So to take that dedicated run it would have to pay a ridiculous amount per mile to justify doing it instead of OTR. Questions such as how much do you value time at home come in to play here.
I suppose if the rate is high enough and you don’t have things taken out such as factoring, dispatching, or leased on fees you could make it work. At $3.50/mile you should be able to clear $3k if your equipment is paid off. For me it would have to be higher to consider it. Like $4+singlescrewshaker, cke, LoneRanger and 1 other person Thank this. -
I offered $1250
They said they need to be around 600 on the rate. LOLsinglescrewshaker Thanks this. -
ask them where you pick up their truck to drive lolstwik, singlescrewshaker, cke and 5 others Thank this. -
You know the actual weight will be more than 30k, right? Do brokers ever underestimate the weight of freight? Maybe it's downhill, both ways.
$1.15/mi seems like signing up to swim with an anchor in your pocket.singlescrewshaker Thanks this. -

Why are they even asking you for a quote if they already had a price point?
tscottme and singlescrewshaker Thank this. -
Got to have a daily rate.
$1200-$1400 seems reasonable. Don’t matter if it 300 miles or 600. They need to tie up your rig for one day that’s why.
they’ll find a moron to do it.tscottme, singlescrewshaker and gentleroger Thank this. -
tscottme, singlescrewshaker and xsetra Thank this.

That sounds like FL broker freight. I just ignore those type of bid requests now from brokers.
tscottme, singlescrewshaker and cke Thank this.
