Hi All,
Please connect with me if you're looking for a team driver and you feel like you would be a good match for me. I'm hoping to get out over-the-road by early 2025 - however, I'm open to sooner or later with the right person and taking into consideration delays for getting signed up with a carrier.
About Me:
I'm 41, non-smoker, introverted (quiet) personality type that seeks similar. I hold a CDL A with no restrictions other than HAZMAT (presently working on this one) and Automatic Only. I've got ~8 months verifiable experience w/long haul, regional, and short haul. I've got my TWIC card and passport. I pack light and prefer to be quickly mobile for traveling/exploring when I'm off the truck.
Experience: Received my CDL with Prime Inc in December 2021. Since then, I've worked with three major carriers hauling a variety of load types from flatbed to reefer to doubles to dry van (Prime Inc., JB Hunt, and System Transport/TWT) in order to get my bearings in the industry. Having spent the majority of my life in the mountains, I'm comfortable operating in inclement conditions and I prioritize safety, responsibility, and integrity at all times.
Ideal Work: This experience taught me that I prefer long runs coast to coast pulling dry or refrigerated no touch freight. I'm presently based in Coos Bay, OR, however, I'm setup to transplant quickly as I have not setup a long-term residence. When I'm not trucking, I prefer to take time off and explore/travel. I will likely pivot my mail to a virtual mailbox or utilize company mail service as my 'home'. That said, no need to get hung up on Coos Bay, OR being my primary 'home.' I can adapt to your home base and operate solo during your 'home time' or we can shut down the truck near your residence and I'll take travel time. I prefer to be working with a driver who wants to be out OTR 3-4 weeks at a time, minimum. If you're looking to be home weekly, I would not be a good fit.
Hiring Concerns: My driving record is pristine; no incidents, accidents, violations, or insurance claims for 10 years. I've been taking time off for personal matters, so the only hangup an employer might have is with my gaps in employment due to 'semi retirement' status. However, I think most companies will waive this when setting up a team. Just something to keep in mind if you're presently working with a recruiter. I would prefer to be 'added' to your present employment path with a company and brought in as a team member. However, I'm happy to apply simultaneously as a team if you're in the process of getting your CDL or getting onboard with a company. Would prefer a company team driver status; lease-op/owner-op is something I'll consider with further discussion of details.
Ideal Driving Partner: Someone who is introverted like myself is ideal. I had an OTR team driver who could spend hours on his phone talking to every family member and friend in his contacts list, day in and day out. This was not a good match for me. Someone who understands the importance of keeping noise levels down during sleep periods and keeping the truck clean, organized, and hygienic is a must. A major plus if you like eating sensibly and keeping the truck stocked with healthy foods rather than loading up at each fuel stop. Mutual trust is important so I need someone who values safety, responsibility, and integrity as much as I do. This means operating within speed limits, maintaining adequate following distance, and not jackrabbiting the brakes and throttle. I take pride in being the kind of safe and careful trucker that makes drivers on the road feel safe, and I believe this feeling is mutually felt by my co-driver.
If you're still reading and I've got your attention, please DM me and let me know if you think we'd be a good match. Look forward to hearing from you.
Chris
