If the driver-observer logs, is he on the drive line, or on the on-duty line?

Does the state trooper have a switch in his car to tell the auto drive truck to pull over for inspection?? If he finds a defect, does an auto drive mechanic come to fix the defect?

It is just a matter of time that self driving trucks will become an absolute reality. There really is no way of getting around it.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

I hope that’s not the case, I’ve seen this story posted earlier today by someone else and most people who responded pointed out how there’s still a driver in this truck and I’ve posted about the topic before and people have commented about all the variables that need to be taken into account that would be hard for technology at this point to get around and I’d like to hope that’s true. I hope that self driving trucks and all that are at the least ten years away if not further away and that me and any other person wanting to get into trucking now or in the near future don’t have to worry about them in our lifetime but at the same time there’s such a push for them it’s worrying. I’d like to say they’re still decades away but at the same time it’s worrying that they might be here a whole lot sooner.

They have almost self-driving trucks now. They are called 'trains'

Until they install rails on the roadways, this is going to be a hard row to hoe
