Have no idea where to start with this, but currently part owner of a brokerage (LLC) started as a side project, very nice professionally done website, branding, youtube channel with a lot of content that looks good, decent amount of SEO content on the website via blogs etc. Mostly finished basic software platform that was to allow freight booking and route searching via login. Owners just got too busy with other businesses owned etc to really focus on it, likely ready to shut this down as little to no revenue, no employees etc.

Is there any opportunity to sell the brokerage with MC number, active bond plus website, youtube, SEO content etc? or would anyone even want it ? MC is about 6 years old.

I’m not trying to advertise on here, just trying to understand what the next steps might be.

    Did you have any sales?

Did you develop a credit rating in those six years?

I'm far from the expert on brokerage mc's, but I would think those are the only things that would really have any value.

What exactly were you doing on YouTube without running a brokerage?

    What content were you producing?

How do you develop branding without actually having a business running?

Just trying to better understand your situation.

Selling a motor carrier used to be a thing as it involved a customer list, contracts, and safety record. Then came along hundreds of fly by night carriers who would pay, was being out of service for safety issues, for equipment and it violations of drivers not qualified to operate. These carriers would lose their operating authority and need to cease operating. Then as quick as the ink drys they are in business as usual but under a new name. That's changed as FMCSA rules that a motor carriers SAFER record is not transfered to a new owner or a previous mc with unsatisfactory safety record is not reset with pencil. The only value in selling an MC today would be in the purchase of a large contract or client list. Your safety record being good or bad is not transferable.
