Semi For Personal use, and ELD's?

    If you own your own semi and trailer and it's paid off but you don't use either of them for profit do you still have to have an ELD

    If it's not registered as a CMV then no you will not. Some states like PA there are only two options. Convert it to an RV with specific requirements or title it as a CMV.

    But even as a CMV, if you meet the 8 in 30 exemption you will be able to use paper logs.

    It would depend a lot on what you are doing with it too, but in general if you don't need a log book, you wont need it, then if you do, then the 8 and 30 day rule comes in to effect.
