Ya, that's a serious understatement. Garmin's bread and butter is the auto segment and this "truck thing" is an "overlay" of truck features onto a consumer device with NavTeq maps. I maintain that if it were the ONLY one then I would have it because it defiantly gives more solid truck routes than the "car" devices. And it is yet to be seen if they fund some new hardware and software changes to "mature" the truck product going forward. Rand has been remarkably focused so far on their product and seems to have some serious thinkers and horsepower on this. Their attitude is currently one of "we're not done when it hit the shelves, we're just beginning." In fairness, I need to mention in the same breath that ALK is bringing this same attitude to their PCM series. There is much coming down the pike from both of these companies for truck driver navigation and in the end, the drivers will only benefit.

Decided to get one with some of my severance package money. Got it for 10% off retail which I thought was pretty good.
As a new driver, I am NOT using it in the truck yet. I need to get more seat time in the Truck and concentrate on that and then add the GPS just before I am by myself. Being a basically an Intra State driver, most of my pick up and delivery points will be set and not change.
Set some things up in the car and it seems to work fine in Upstate NY so far. Anything that is not exact, like my home office site, I sent up a POI for it. That seems to help correct for slight mapping errors.
I've got the S/W update installed as well as the latest maps, along with Mac S/W to support it. So far so good. -
I bought the Garmin Nuvi 465T back in July. I have used it every day since. I had the Garmin Nuvi 660 before and I started using both at the same time.
They give routes, basically, the same, with a few small differences. There are features I like on both. I am starting to rely, solely, upon the 465T. Until, yesterday, that is. I was plagued by the same reboots as others have described. Yesterday, it froze, I tried a manual reboot and now it won't turn back on. Luckily, I still have the 660. Hopefully, Garmin will stand behind their product and I can get a new unit quickly.
I have not downloaded the latest update and now I can't. -
