Is this a center bolt or parameter bolt style (what year)? Are you putting a dab of sealer on the corners of the front and rear cam caps? Are you sure it's from the gasket? Oil can leak from the cam caps, diamond seal, rear cam cover and wick down the valve cover gasket.

Did you replace the rubbers on the bolts? When they wear out, you loose the clamping force holding the valve cover down. This is very common with the older center bolt stay with the thick rubbers.

Get the rubbers for the bolts too. The bolts bottom out, the only thing that holds tension on the valve cover is the rubber.

You also should have the mesh filter for the breather vent. Doesn't hurt to pull that out and clean it good with carb or brake cleaner and blow it out to dry it. As that starts to plug, you get a little more crank case pressure that can make gaskets seep.

But a new style valve cover with bolts and the new style gasket, the head will accept it and it will seal much better. Also always put silicone in the corners of the cam caps and that should do it. It's not leaking out of the front diamond seal or perimeter seal and running down the valve cover is it?
