Had a bad exchange with a planner today.....been thinking about it all day....So here it goes...Dropped my load at ross in South Carolina last night....and got a preplan for for 11am load next day(today)...like 500 miles...ehhhh..it was light..but i didnt think much of it...in that i felt compelled to take it right away.....and it expired by the time i got done at ross dc....no big thing i thought....it had that new message att to it ...we know you read the pp more than 15 mins ago...crap that we been getting lately...so got parked and queried for a load...nothing come up....sent same pp late at night..well i wasnt interested....saw it on my phone.....welll i wasnt interested...my pta was set for 4am..ok my mistake...but i didnt think there were any loads around...so im not going to change it for later(mistake on my part I guess)...get up and pp had expired..so i do my mac 10 and query for a load again..nothing...figure it was one of those days......about hour later same pplan...comes across so this time i respond to it....no too tired...sorry....(its what i put as reason)...Also...i worked/drove for 4 weeks straight now...no days off...since october first when i got back....from philippines.....figured unless a compelling load offer came i would take day off....well about 7am....planners message...quote..."what do you mean you are too tired"...with qoute marks around too tired...ahole for that....and said to accept and adjust times on preplans...and said that i am the one who set my pta..(ok mr planner...true enough on that one) and if i was "tired" why was i querying for a load?...wow!......I really wasnt interested in that load.....geez...it would be up the I77 not profitable...not really...nc to ohio....I had allready declined it...so i thought wtf???...never had anyone talk to me like that before...except...hmmmm...a planner back a few years ago...that pushed me into leasing...so i could say one simple word..if needed...NO!...he said it as if i was a employee...not a business partner....so i fired back a msg...that said "dont ever talk to me like that again!"...and sent my dm a msg....like i am business partner...and if i decline a load...becoz i am tired...then planner can pound sand.....didnt hear anything back....poor dm too....he new......just got him yesterday....so i probably sounded like a real ahole to him....but then planner calls me on the phone...left me a message...no way im talking on the phone now!...u put it on the quallcomm....so anyways...thoughts?...i accept that i could have handled a little better...but...welll it happens....and this machine is tired....![]()

You easily could have.handled it better. Why set an availability then throw it back at them? You get paid a mileage rate as a fleece operator so why are you questioning profitability? Please don't tell me "MPG"....

I feel your pain Fr8. I had a ######## planner in denver get short with me on a load and i simply told him i dont have the hours to run it as my 70 was up. he told me well i need to move freight!!!! i told him i dont have hours get someone else to run it then called my dm and told him the situation and he said i did the right thing. If i was you it would of been really hard for me to hold back. ive found that my temper has gone through the roof since i started trucking.

I always preface any of my messages with O/O. Tells them up front that if I decline this and if I give you a reason, it's only because I feel like it.

FR8, I do not know what is going on lately with the planners and DM's. Had a problem with one the other day, sent a pplan, refused, home time request, and they fired back, your home time is Nov 5. The load was for PHX to Yuma to Ontario. As a L/O, I do not have to give you anymore reason. They are, this is what I think, not even bothering to see is a truck is L/O or CO. They are letting the computer take care of everything.
