Shifter hanging

    Got a 10 speed in my pete 16210c eaton after coming out of 5th going to 6th the shifter will hang up against the detent spring its done this a few times since i bought the truck but seems to be getting worse here lately when it hits the spring it just stops and you have to kinda reposition it to get it to go in. Is my shifter just worn out? Any ideas

    Could be the detent is bent, or worn, there is also a pin and air valve that allows air to flow to the high range piston when you shift out of fifth gear that could be sticking. Eaton has repair manuals online for most of there transmissions with pictures and part numbers and they are free.

    Ok great thanks for the information i have noticed the range selector makes a loud thump somtimes also when changing so that might be my problem
