was a report made at the time of the damage? or later on, down the road?

did you take lots of pictures?

a police report would not really have been necessary on private property.

but a report to your safety dept right away, and to the shipper/receiver as soon as it was noticed on site.

you can try calling some local attorney, have him/her write up some sort of demand letter. this letter will of course, cost you a few dollars.

Take pictures and get witnesses, document everything.

well, we cannot see any damages, to give you our opinions as well.

swing doors (in my view) would be difficult to damage of themselves...as they are out of the way.

however, damaging the hinges is a possibility.

also, IF the fork got in between the door and the trailer frame, then yeah, damage can be done.

i'd be very surprised that the warehouse did not have closed circuit tv..??? which records till it is erased?

you may end up eating this, then you choose ever going there again.

then too, make it a point that your driver(s) are on the docks from now on..????

As posted, can we see a pic of the damage?
In either case, depending on location, they simply could have gone home today. Sounds like it just happened, so complaining about slow responses is premature. Give it a couple days before complaining.
If they don't want to pay, submit it to your insurance and let the insurance companies fight about whose responsibility it is.

Dude, once that truck leaves the property, then it is a lost cause.

I had swinging door hinges broken once by direct hit from a fork at a Home Depot. I turned it in to Safety with pics before leaving. No idea how it all panned out.
