I live in the woods and atleast once a year I break an antenna off coming into the house. I have a prostar duel coax with a cobra 29 digital. What is a set of good short antennas?

I think these are a very good and durable antenna. I posted this on another thread....

I drove a 2006 378 Peterbilt for over 10 years, and I had a Hustler FG27S 4ft antenna on it. About 7 years later with lots of rough gravel roads and railroad tracks that I drove over on a daily basis delivering loads, the antenna finally broke off.

Not sure how short of an antenna you use, but if you want better distance from a CB radio, don't go less than a 4 foot antenna.

I ended up putting a Wilson 2000 on the grab rail behind the cab and running a coax in through the side box.

    worked good on a Cascadia.

never trimmed trees with one again .lol

How about unscrewing the whips before you go to the house?

Use a pair of Francis 5' antennas, work well wont break on tree limbs, been using them for years never a problem.

It might be easier to trim the trees.

Well 1st issue is a short antenna..Its less and less efficient the shorter you go..
Never liked the francis ant cause they are like wet noodles and constantly mess the tune as it flip flops around..

If i had to choose one only cause of the trees issue, wilson 2000...The whip will take most of the punishment..

I have never had an issue with a Francis antenna, Been using them for 20 years always worked well. I don't care for the Wilsons, just like I always run co-phased antennas when pulling a box trailer, single with a taker. a box van will create a null in your signal with a single antenna.
