Ok so you know more than the American Trucking Association, got it.
I wish I was as smart as you. -
I see this as good for carriers to get a rate increase. Yet no pay increase for the average driver.

Really? I've had 2 raises since I started 11 months ago. I'm making 6 cents more per mile than I was then, with only 11 months of experience.
laaylor Thanks this. -

If it is a real shortage they will start throwing exemptions and bending rules to allow business to carry on as always, I think it is a shortage of thinking that is the problem.
Justrucking2 and Oldironfan Thank this. -
The ATA is simply the pawn for mega carriers, so its probably more of a recruiting tool than anything else. There is very little allure for a driver at a decent company to go to an ATA supporting mega carrier besides desparation. What freight is paying now is what it was paying twenty and thirty years ago. Some companies like yours have made a smart business move and increased pay, a majority still have the "if they quit just hire anyone" mentality.

Yea, I will say while not perfect, Ozark seems to be fair.
Many times I've asked for layover pay in a very questionable situation (might not be Ozarks fault, might even partially or fully been mine) and they paid layover. Very few times have they flatly said no.Oldironfan Thanks this.
