Shortage of truck drivers in the United States may attract Brazilians

You should look at our population statistics for the last few decades. Birth rates were low even before covid. All but the super rich and desperately poor don't have enough babies to even maintain the population. We've ALWAYS brought people from other countries in for labor. Don't allow panic-media to convince you otherwise

 

When my nephew wanted to be a driver I told him there was and would be forever a flood of immigrants willing to do the job for less $$
And that he should find a driving job that was not available to immigrants .

and he did.
He found a company that transports speciality cargo that requires the drivers be native born US citizens , and the drivers have to pass an extensive background investigation, and have to have spotless criminal credit and driving records .

if your job can be done by immigrants , you need to be figuring out a way to move into a field that can’t be done by them .
Or your wages will be constantly dropping .

 

Yeah, because we don’t have enough foreign drivers saturating the industry already.

I drive slowly, badly perhaps, and compared to you, hardly much at all. But I do sometimes pay attention to my surroundings and I find your conclusions to be heavily emotionally distorted and not much fact based.
