    Good evening,

trying to keep this post short and down to the point hopefully I’m able to find some answers.

first time owner operator, have a 2013 kenworth t660 with an ISX Cummins engine, 10 speed, with currently 305xxx miles on it

i have not had any major issues on it until now. Recently i started noticing when going up hills, when I accelerate to try to maintain speed with a trailer no heavier than 20k lbs, the rpm’s shoot up to 1600-17000. I let off the gas and try to accelerate again and they shoot up again. Forcing me to having to drop my speed and my rpm’s to 1100-1000 to down shift and it picks back up again with no problem up to 1300-1400 then they shoot up again as I gradually accelerate. Mind you I’ve usually climbed the hills at around 55-65mph now with this issue I have to keep it between 35-45mph or the rpm’s will shoot up.

I was advised to pour in fuel injector cleaner maybe an injector is clogged, done so, still having an issue.
    I’m thinking maybe a sensor?
What do you guys recommend I should look for or should I take it to the shop ?

Sounds like you have a clutch slipping it can’t hold the torque. Don’t keep driving it
It will just get worse and be prepared you may end up putting a clutch in it.

Try to get a clutch adjustment have you been greasing the clutch linkage and clutch release bearing?.

Does your clutch pedal have any free play at the top of the pedal? From reading this post, I’m guessing it does not and also guessing you don’t know what clutch free play is. So go on YouTube and search how to adjust Eaton clutch. You can do it in the parking lot in a bout 10 minutes

Find a mechanic in your home domicile to check out your truck.. Ask the drivers in your home 20 who do they use. Make it a practice to have it checked out by a mechanic once a month to catch small problems before they become big ones. Have the mechanic go over items with you and to point things out so the next time something like this occurs you will have an idea of what the problem may be so that you dont get ripped off out on the road. Preventative maintenance is always cheaper than repairs on the road.

Keep slipping that clutch and the replacement costs will go up, you usually have a double plate clutch with an intermediate flywheel floating between them, you have a lot of surface to screw up and not all can be machined and reused. the longer it slips the more likely you will need to replace everything.

Has trucking become so easy that people don't know what a slipping clutch is? Why did you buy a manual if you don't understand it?

Truck in d goes burrrrr... If it's beeping, push the yellow and red button, if you hop out and it's honking, pull them again to shut off the horn. If the d doesn't work, call the hotline.

Why do you have to be so rude about it, I’m seeking for help, if you’re not helping out why comment. But thank you for being a hater
