I saw this two days ago at end of day. I'm guessing I need two new steers. I would do it today, but company office is closed and no national account then.

Yes, that is the only place I'd drive that is to a very close tire shop. Is that the left side?

It's not much, but it is one thing I have always done, toss two steers on the front where possible if one came up lame.

My vote is two new steers, it's a shame because that one looks like it's only got started. It aint that much more before you get into the metal in that little hole.

Or better yet get into some place hot and unwrap that tread a while next thing you know. KABOOM.

So what's your poison a little dollar spent today or a bomb later?

Replace it or it will come apart soon and leave you stranded. Had one do that to me 2 years ago, it lasted a wk and came apart. Dont know how it didnt blow, but stayed up long enough to limp it to the nearest tire shop.

If it's not showing cords run it. Mark it and check it for the next few days and see if it gets any worse. Feel for irregular wear around it that could be belts breaking. If it starts getting irregular wear switch it out.

Wow, hope you guys dont get into dump trucking lol. That type of damage pops up once a month on steer tires running over #4 ballast tire scrubbers at job entrances. Couldnt imagine spending 1400 bucks a month on new tires. I run em till they are bald.
