Should I replace left front steer tire

    I'm just worring on it blowing out. Then my truck ends up 4 ft in the next lane.

    it does not look like the damage goes below the thread depth if that is the case i would not be to concerned about it.

    Look, it is simple, there is no damage to the casing nor is it down to the cords, it is right at the level above the cords and in a place that is not going to see a lot of road, if any.

    If you replace it, it will be a waste of money. If it was leaking or the cords actually showing, then yes replace it but I would run it without hesitation and have run worst tires on my trucks.

    this is what i would do if i had any concerns about the tire blowing out.

    I demand (Ahem.. ask nicely...) for 10 new tires each october after first frost and get em. Old tires go into back of shop for spares or onto another truck. I know Im spoiled.

    But I have never had a steer fail except maybe twice and that was because the metal inside the tires themselves were a factory defect detected as viberation and tossed for new ones on the spot.

    I love my steers, I'll pet them, love on them, oh wait... that did not come out the way it should. But you get the idea. Take care of them and you will be fine up there.

    My steer tire wasnt cut down to the cords either when it came apart.
