Some of them maybe, most don't own a trailer. I guess they could do power only loads.

I guess I can understand why people strike, but I don't really like it. I don't like the idea of bringing a nation to its knees, especially when they make decent to good money as it is. In this case, number of people negatively impacted is far greater than the number of people positively impacted. Forgive me, I'm kind of a greater good guy. As a trucker, why in the hell would I join them on this strike? They see themselves as separate in the industry. They want what they want, and everyone else can pound sand. Besides, it wasn't like they didn't get a fair offer.

Their President was just on the news wearing a large gold necklace.
He owns a 79 ft. yacht and a Bentley.
His various pays from the union members dues is just under one million a year.
He is a member of the Genovese Crime Family.
All kinds of garbage being discovered about the guy.

A crane operator said he makes over $300,000.00 a year and is struggling to put food on the table for his family, just like all other Americans.

I wouldn’t let a union tell me what I can and cannot do to run my business. I can stand on my own 2 feet.

    1) I know quite a few areas of the U.S.A. have a very high cost of living, however, this sounds a bit FARFETCHED, to say the least, that one has that much of a hard time putting food on the table for his family while earning $300,000 a year.
    2) Most Americans would have to be born at least 3 times over to earn this kind of money. HOLY MOSES!

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

The absolute sheer driving force of our national economy - without truck drivers, our entire national economy would come to an absolute standstill - if not outright be dead.

Over the mountains, through the woods, into the valleys, coast to coast, from sea to shining sea - truck drivers can and do go anywhere and everywhere, every day, every night, all year round.

Truth be told, no corporation or labor union should ever have this much power!

As mentioned in the past, ports in the U.S.A., both east & west coast, will have to eventually become automated like their foreign counterparts. There is no way around it. It will become a matter of economic survival.

    NOTE:
    1)
I do feel for the individuals who will be displaced by automation. I my self have suffered bouts of unemployment throughout my life, it is outright horrible.
    2) I also realize that the displaced individuals can find other jobs, (not necessarily with the same pay & benefits), or get retrained for other jobs. People have had to do this for a long time. Time & technology simply do not stand still.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
