Singers family suing trucking company/driver

So, the guy driving her van flipped it over on the interstate and a tractor-trailer hit it and killed her.
Her family is suing the trucking company.

 

Perhaps if every billboard along the roads of Atlanta, and every other major city for that matter, weren't advertising how every single person is entitled to a payout if life happens to them and something goes wrong we wouldn't have this problem.

I hear you. But article states the tractor trailer had collision mitigation and the brakes were never applied. Does not say if there was a road facing camera.

 

Say the intial accident happened while the van was 14 seconds in front of the truck, but the truck never touched it's brakes until after the truck made contact with the wrecked van - still think its a frivolous lawsuit?

There are a whole bunch of unanswered questions about this incident. The only way to get those answers is through depositions and subpoenas, which require filling a law suit.

More importantly, the heirs may need to prove that there were no 'shenanigans' in order for life insurance to pay out. Not to mention the record label.

 

The van driver was distracted by something. The article states the van driver over-corrected and caused the van to flip.

 

You always sue where the deep pockets are.

 

I went down a rabbit hole the other day with this story.. the way it sounds is that all the other band mates inside the van were rescued and stone was the last one in the van when the semi truck hit it... Which means that wreck happened way before that truck ever got there... Probably anothee driver on their phone or watching tiktok
