Hello I'm new to the trucking life and I was wondering if you can install a satellite radio in your truck, if you work for a company and if so is it hard to do. Thank you

If you're a company driver then there's plenty of ways to hook up a Sirius system without having to permanently attach something or damage the body.
You might also tell us more about what equipment you're working with. The more we know, the more you know. -
First thing, it's easier if your truck radio has an auxiliary in jack on the face. I'm in a freightliner now, which does. The Volvo I was in before didn't, so I had to order the antenna adapter, which our shop put in without complaint (altho I took it out myself when I left).
The antenna that came with it is magnetic. On the volvo, went on a mirror. Freightliner it went on the Qualcomm bracket and runs under the truck and in the passenger door. The mag antenna works ok, tho I'm sure many would recommend the bigger antenna. I'm just too cheap to spend money on replacing something I got free which works for me.
I mounted the unit with the included bracket in the volvo, but had to make a bracket when I moved it. A piece of pipe strap folded over about three times under a screw on the dash holds it just fine.
then you gotta power it. Another lighter socket plug lol, my dash looks like one of those warning pictures of plugging too many appliances in and setting your house on fire.
Anyway, I love my XM. Just wish Neal Boortz hadn't retired, but we still got Dave Nemo on the Road dogblairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Yes. I would imagine that 100% of companies will let you put a SirriusXm receiver in your truck.
Everything is portable. Suction cup mount for receiver, magnetic 'mouse' antenna or mirror mount universal antenna, and either an FM signal to grab the air waves, or as mentioned an auxiliary cable if applicable. Nothing is "permanently" mounted, no holes to drill, etc... if a company has a problem with it...you made the wrong choice in companies. -
thanks every one for the help
