Ok just so I understand it is ok for me to just type in a few symbols w/no letters to express what would have been incorrect language?
Ex: That #### is just unacceptable behavior--
Let me know if that is ok--just trying to do it right--and if this is what meant by skirtin--it was not my intent
    Thanx

This just says we can't do anything to circumvent the profanity filter. It doesn't mean you have to stop typing what you want. If I type #### it gets blocked, that's what the filter is there for. There are numerous ways for me to type that up so the message is clearly conveyed.

At the risk of getting an infraction this is for the greater good of society. As stated in the first post, the filter is there for a reason, if the point was to have no variations of these words used we wouldn't need a filter, just a giant ban hammer.

Ex. 1 : They gave me a new truck, it's a piece of ####. (typed as it is said and my choice word was blocked by the filter)
Ex. 2 : They gave me a new truck, it's a piece of %&!@. (Choice word altered by me in order to keep it clean, same result as example 1 but this time I chose which characters were used instead of ####)

Examples 1 and 2 aren't what the new rule is about. Example 3 however ...

Ex. 3 : They gave me a new truck, it's a piece of 5h!t. (I intentionally typed it up to circumvent the filter and convey my message whole)

So why not have referred to the truck as a pile of junk?

I can't believe ®ö€h£ wanted me to give a drivers jacket to goodwill when he gave it to me because it didn't fit him and they wouldn't exchange it.

One could, but that wouldn't have been the way I'd (me personally) say it if we were face to face.

Because even though this is a private forum I'm pretty sure the owners and mods would like to uphold a certain level of freedom within the community. A mutual form of respect goes much further in strengthening ties within a community and achieving the the goal of building a respectable forum rich with information where everyone (with exceptions) can feel welcome.

Once you start down the dangerous road of over-modding, which in turn creates a false representation of those who are actually posting. You end up with a commi-socialist environment where people are constantly fearing that they will hurt another's feelings and end up getting reprimanded for it.

The term "junk" can just as easily be taken out of context and eventually end up being on the no fly list.

Work with the community to eradicate crime and you will do away with much of it for good. Strong arm them into compliance and it will be a constant uphill battle.

Seems strange to me. Most of the people I am around do not use the foul language. I guess some people do not know better.
