    Can anyone recommend an honest sleep study? I'm trying to retest and I'm worried they will just be interested in selling a machine and I wanna find an honest company.

    Your doctor can prescribe an at home sleep study. Then the results will be interpreted by a sleep doctor. There will be no scam because they already have enough patients. And you can look at the results yourself. I believe over 25 events per hour is considered moderate to severe sleep apnea. But you can look this up.

    What initiated a sleep study in the first place? Did you admit you snore? NEVER DO THAT!!

    Lot of DoT docs will while doing your physical measure your neck and if its over 18 or 20 inches or you are above X weight demand you get a sleep study if you havent had one as just part of the procedure now. Not all obviously but a LOT of them will.

    One way of not being a target of smarmy doctors with a conflict of interest deciding a driver should hand over their money for a sleep study is working on keeping your weight reasonable and your neck size below the trigger number. It doesn't matter that most of the food that's easy to eat while on the road is terrible, don't fill yourself full like Thanksgiving day every day. Eat just enough not to starve. NOBODY can eat enough bad food to feel loved or comforted while away from home. If someone is complaining about the poor quality of the food then don't eat it or eat a lot less of it. Drivers can buy and bring healthy food, eat the healthiest option on a fast food menu, and eat less than you ate when you were on the high school football team 30 plus years ago. You sit still all day. You don't need the calories. You will feel hungry until you get used to eating less. Drink water every time you feel hungry. Eating salt and sugar will only make you want more salt and sugar. Eat a little less sugar than you ate daily last week. Every week or two eat a little less salt or sugar. I'm also guilty as charged but I change when I gained 10 pounds, not wait until I'm not able to get a DOT card. Your heart will give up if you abuse it with heavy weight long enough. There is no prize for high score except a coffin. We need you to stick around.

    ProActive Work Health Services / 44451 16th St W STE 101, Lancaster, CA 93534 doctor there is not real big on sleep apnea. The only real doc that I know of that you have a chance of reversal.

    As far as what to eat, real simple NO SUGAR or STARCHS, meat is your friend, eggs are your friend, Tea or coffee no sugar is good if you have to have cream use whole cream not half and half, it is not the fat that gets you its the stuff your body convert to sugars then store it as fat, like hamburger buns, You can have hamburgers and even cheese burgers, lettuce wrap no bread. Follow this and the pounds will melt off. I went from a 5X to a 2X in 2 years, 450+ down to 235 in 2 (give or take ) years and feel great. Water is every important also it flushes the crap out of your system.

    Yess it's true I blew up to 520 lbs in 9 years and I'm now down to around 240 its still a work in progress but I'm getting there. I also quit smoking. All to get off the cpap so it arguably was probably the best thing for me. But I can't sleep with it strapped to my face. I only wear it 90 days a year just for my compliance

    I like taco meat and sloppy joe meat on lettuce with cheese. It's keto friendly too. Just skip the bread
