Slow crank no start

    I have a 2007 freightliner Columbia it was sitting a few months but I decided to put it back on the road.. I had 4 batteries in the truck but when I went to crank it gave me nothing (I already figured it wouldn’t start) but when I put 4 brand new batteries in it… it’s turning slow but won’t crank.. is it possible for me to troubleshoot or do I just need to go ahead and get a new starter.. my starter was not dragging before I let the truck sit

    Check the voltage of the big cable at the starter while someone else cranks it if it’s below 10 check at the battery while it’s cranking and see what it is there then start checking connections

    If all your battery cables are tight you can check the cable at the starter, by try crank it over then check the cable at the starter to see if they get hot. If the ground or the positive get hot means you have loose or dirty connection. if your stater is getting hot, that means it's time to change it. Before you do that make sure you don't have a bad a/c compressor.
