160000lb load or grossing 160000? Grossing 160, maybe. The load weighs 160, I don't see that happening. Bringing a superload into the northeast takes weeks, not days. I may be wrong, but I'd say over 2 weeks, start to finish.

Sorry to offend you Sir
It may have been 15 days, like I said I could be wrong on that
It was a pleasure just to see such a big load up close, I think he said the load grossed 160000 but I could be wrong on that also
He had to reverse out after fueling, was too wide to go thru
Don't crucify me guys for having a bad memory .................. lol

Not offended. Thing is, the northeast, (like Connecticut and Mass) will only allow a superload to run like on Tuesday and Thursday during school hours. Factor in how long it takes to get permits, police escorts, route surveys....you can easily have 3 weeks tied up on 1 load. Depending on your rig, a 160000 lb load+a 90000lb rig will put you in superload territory, and that's just the weight. That load would have to pay stupid money. How much money? Well, the permits, civilian escorts, police escorts and fuel will probably cost you what the average American makes in gross income a year. And you have all of that extra time tied up on one load. It would have to cover a month's expenses, and pay you for your time in the BS circus that is New England.albert l Thanks this. -
Hey TripleSix, We are kinda stuck here near the world headquarters. lol
Went by the one motel and it looked like a used trk. lot there. -
The world headquarters west lot has a bunch of shiny new hopper bottoms sitting there. Wonder what the plan is for them? Maybe late to the dance for frac sand?

It's a bare market right now, most of our normal dealerships that we service aren't buying anything big. Plant in Victoria is doing a trial run on carriers submitting bids on lanes, dealerships have no say as to who picks up their machines out of there now. Let's just say that Daily decided they wanted all the decent lanes, can't cover it all with their own trucks and are brokering loads for up to half of what we were doing them for. Bad thing is if Cat likes the way this goes it will be the new normal for everything they build in this country, haven't heard if this will affect the stuff that is imported.

cats rates have been in the crapper for along time. when keen sold out they got even worse. only time I pickup at a keen yard is customer pickup. was offered a 336 out of Victoria when I was down in laredo few weeks back. $3 per mile was an insult! deadheaded to Houston. loaded a 80000lb load for 3 times that going to the same place as the 336 was going.

We've done well with Cat, but 99% of it has been for a small handful of dealers. I told the office they better start looking at other stuff to haul, cause this deal in Victoria is the beginning of the end for decent rates, other than the occasional throw money at it, it's gotta go deal.
I'm also going to see about getting rid of this drop side, it's screwed me twice now out west. -
What's a drop side and how did it screw you in the west?
