What sucks about driving a slow truck is you get stuck behind every uhaul and camper etc..slowing you down even below your max speed.
Your pretty much stuck in the granny lane with merging traffic every mile.
Its so nice being able to pass something quickly or get out of a bad situation.
I take less money to drive a 65 mph truck and drive the western 11.
You couldnt pay me enough driving the east coast at 60 mph.

    Expedite69 and Bumper Thank this.

wow at 43c per mile i wouldn't be complaining about what speed my truck was set at that's for sure, i"d also love to see the fuel usage comparisons as well i'm pretty sure Prime at the end of the month would be way ahead on that figure as well.

Actually they new rate now is 46cpm in the lw trucks and you still have the weekly fuel bonus on top of all that which averages another 3-4cpm.

I'm ungoverned in my truck and can run whatever speed I feel like, but on the average I still run 62-65mph. I get 8-9mpg instead of 7 and take home more money because of that. I have my own authority so I am my own carrier.

All this talk about getting there faster to sit and wait for my appointment time does not make the 70 mph truck get more revenue versus the 60mph truck. You're still confined to the appointment times set for your load. Really the only way that 70 mph truck makes more is by doing nothing but drop and hooks. Live loads won't make a difference, you'll have still wait for that appointment.

Funny thing is, you rarely ever see a unhappy prime driver on the road. They are paid well, treated well, and have some of the best equipment on the road. Plus they are some of the most helpful drivers if they see you struggling with baking.
