She's pretty independent. Ohio schools don't have drivers education through school, so we have to get her into a private school. I offered to pay for it being that it's going to cost $500, but since she's got her first job and making a decent paycheck for a 16yr old and is getting awesome grades in her trade school she's going to pay for it herself. She says that for her 18 birthday, she's going to buy her first car. Proud of her, and amazed she's not asking for help

 

I'm sure her folks prefer that one do from now on.

 

And worse still, they reproduce....

Remember back when Suzuki was making the Samurai? One of the most unstable vehicles on the road, and deadly in a crash. And I knew several fathers who bought them as gifts for "our little princess" when she turned 18....

Amen to that! There was a time, not so long ago actually, that my wife and I owned, all at the same time, a Bronco II, a Jeep Grand Cherokee, and my 4WD Power Stroke. We liked to get away too.....
(Of those, I only have the Power Stroke left.)

Human behavior has a trigger in me that is not quite right in most people and because of that, I find it deeply amusing how stupid the driver really is by displaying a intent to keep going backwards up that wire.

 

I just tell the boys that I'll rip there lungs out. So far so good.

 

She hasn't shown a whole lot of interest in the boys yet, says it's a waste of time until they've matured a little more. I guess I'll trust her judgement.

 

Well try this. To daughter: at this point you have so many emotions going on that you may question that you love yourself which is crazy and we love you. But feeling that there is no way you can even think you love a boy.
