Snackbar is chillin'....at Shaffer

Got aabout a dozen brand new trailers at wilmer. About 8 or 9 are oos for their initial servicing. Just got a brand new one for next ld!

 

Gahhhhh! Got that 1800mi load but got to the customer, finally got a door(work in, whatever) truck went crazy while waiting to get loaded. Which still isnt happening because apparently Im not close enough to get the hook up. While I'm disconnected, im just in front, so cant even get the yard dog under to move the trailer. Ac shut off, wipers turned on, got a bunch of alerts. Breakdown said its probably a bad battery. Best eta for someone to get to me was at least 3hrs though. Luckily customer is letting me hangout in their break room as i cant even roll the windows down and its 90ish out. I know its the truck, but I still blame the effing trailer lol no idea when this loads going to deliver, customer stops loading at 3, so itll be tight if they can load me today or not. At this point im fine just watching this week burn. Last week even with all the issues I had, still got 3500miles.

 

Have whoever does the repairs check the ground points on the frame and battery. Had that EXACT same thing happen to me in Colorado 2 months ago. The repair shop breakdown told me to go to did testing and discovered the factory painted over the ground connections. The paint worked itself into the connector and disrupted the ground. They just pulled the battery connections off the frame, sanded the paint off the frame, replaced the battery cables and haven't had an issue since... sat for 2 days waiting for the shop them to open. I had gotten to them on a Friday at closing time in Nebraska. They opened at 7am on Monday and by 9am, I was finished and rolling...lol

 

I guess it’s time that you’re gonna have to start sending messages to night dispatch, and then resend the same message to day dispatch because according to the operations manager George, what they do at night is of no concern to them during the day because they do things differently… In Laymans terms, they don’t care what’s put in the computer in the notes by night dispatch

 

Sounds familiar from my last year or so at Schneider. The information superhighway had lots of dead ends.

 

They sent me a pre-plan this morning picking up a Greeley Colorado going to Portland and Kent Washington problem is the load picks up tomorrow does not deliver till Tuesday @1400 in Portland and 11am Wednesday in Kent WA for a total of 1387 miles and this asset manager I have is practically useless saying we need to figure out if we need to t call it.. I’ve sent them a message and I’m only giving them two hours either set up a t call for Salt Lake or I’m rejecting the load as unproductive… My dumb asset manager had the gall to tell me let’s wait till Monday to see if you can make Oregon or not… This guy is clueless..

 

Would life be easier, and possibly better, at Crete? That's the conclusion that several have made.

 

My issue is this new asset manager… And I have met him and I swear he’s probably not a day over 25 years of age he’s clueless. He doesn’t have any idea what the heck he’s doing. He has no idea what terminals have shops as well among other crap.. so I’m rapidly reaching the point of going to mgt and getting a different asset manager that actually knows what the hell they’re doing because prior to this there really was no issues…I have zero desire to ever switch back to dry van
