Got empty yesterday in a reasonable amount of time. Before I unloaded, dispatch put me on a seperate trip number for my empty trailer move back to Spring Hill, but, about the time I was backing in, my DM called (I let it go to voicemail because I was blindside backing around the corner of the building aiming for the crane dock). He left a msg saying not to leave the customer until we spoke. When I called him, he said nevermind the voicemail they were going to have me pick up a backhaul load, but changed their mind because they have a number of Canadian loads out of Spring Hill, so it's back to the original empty move to there. Haven't found out my next load, but it sounds like visiting Canada is in my near future.

Got an alert this morning that Don Daske is out as Chairman/CEO effective immediately. I bet this will speed up the mergers. The guy from Schneider is running it now
Bumper Thanks this. -

He stepped down a notch right after they went public. He isn't exactly the youngest. He might just be doing the same thing Mr. Moore did when he sold this company...retire and enjoy time off while he is still healthy enough to enjoy it. Hope this doesn't signal a significant change in how things work here.
Lonesome Thanks this. -
Heading out on an adventure of a lifetime, at least the most unique run I have ever done. It will be a 2 week round trip load totaling almost 5700 miles, including a 6-7 hour ferry to...
That's right, Spring Hill to St.Johns Newfoundland and back. -

Sounds like a great trip at the best time of the year.
Had a trip to Halifax back in the 90s.
Beautiful part of the continent. Enjoy.Bumper Thanks this. -
Our new Safety boss did a Church Hill to NF around Thanksgiving last year and said it was beautiful even then...well, except for the 3 day wait for weather to clear and the extreme winds to die down so ferry service could resume.
Knucklehead, Bumper, HoChoSen and 2 others Thank this.
