    And the hits just keep on coming. Decided to do a 34 enroute to Spring Hill, 1st thing this a.m., another 1500 mile round trip to MI...that's a 3100, a 2900, and a 3000+ mile stretch of runs. I am on pace to turn an 11-12k month depending on how things pan out over Memorial day. Since Tuesday is our payroll cutoff day, I should have the possibility of yet another 3000 mile week to finish off the month. My dispatcher said they are going to be pushing glass hard next week to get it shipped before the 3 day holiday weekend, hence the decision to do a 34 now so I am not playing recap games next week.

    Start at $0.60 then .01 cpm raise every year for 5 years.

    I am glad I don't own my own truck pulling this type of freight. As of Tuesday afternoon, when I fueled up, I have already purchased 1601 gallons of diesel...1601 by the 22nd...at the average street pump price of around $3/gal (not sure what discount the company gets), that's a lot of dough-ray-me.

    Running on average 3K miles a week, averaging 7.3 miles a gallon. My weekly fuel bill fluctuates between $1500 to $1600 a week. Luckily we get a decent pump discount.

    With these open deck trailers, even with the conastogas, my truck averages 6 - 6.2. The only time I get better mileage is if I pull the occasional van...but that's the joy of flatbed hauling, and no apu...by the end of the month I will have topped 2000 gallons.

    SSB...isnt it nice...your cpm stays the same...no matter how much fuel you use..or how long you idle

    Or how slow freight gets in the off season, and no management on your butt for higher than expected out of route miles....I enjoy this thing they call....what's the word....oh yeah, Freedom...

    My last load out of Canada, I came from the north side of Montreal which is directly north of Buffalo. I asked my dispatcher which one of the NY border crossings was "transponder only" so I didn't try to exit the country at the wrong one. (one of them is only for transponder equipped trucks, they accept no cash or credit cards). He said, "just go thru Detroit"...but I am headed to Church Hill (which is outside Kingsport, TN) not Spring Hill. I called the safety/compliance department to ask which...and they told me which one, but said if I had gone thru Detroit, that would have worked too...so 10-15% OOR is perfectly acceptable I guess.
