Nothing for snap binders. Just collects dirt and plugs up.

Liquid wrench is about the best option. Maybe WD-40. Something water based. Oil based will just attract dirt as @cnsper says

Ratchet binders get a good wire brushing and some used motor oil. Snap binders get nothing. They never get used anyway.

About the only thing that will bind on snaps is the little swivel ball that allows the hook to rotate. Never have lubed them though. Usually you can just smack the hook on the trailer floor to free it up.

If you don't keep ratchet binder threads clean and well lubed, you are in for a bad day. Nothing worse than having to put your bar in the end to try to keep the chain from twisting.

Back when i used ratchet binders, i kept them lubed in lithium grease and fully retracted when not in use. Worked for me
