Alright so the company I applied to 2 weeks ago finally called me up. I have to take a refresher course for some reason. I told them I drive trucks up on the slope, I know its considered off road and DOT regulations don't apply...but whatever, I have to take a 160 hour refresher course. Also they told me I can live anywhere in Utah as long as I am willing to drive my own car to and from the terminal because they're policy states that no one can take their trucks home. So I called Stevens told them I am no longer interested in employment. I will start work with May Trucking Company in late March hauling dry vans. I will be working my last hitch this month for Schlumberger and I am out of here, I can't wait for some warm weather, I am excited.

from what i gather, you are moving to Utah....??

too bad you need to take a "refresher course", but hey, it'll be for the better.

best of luck and wishes to you in your new job.

I will be moving to Cedar City, Utah, I will have to drive to Layton which isn't a big deal..also I think for the most part when I have home time, I will just get a hotel.

Thanks Pro1driver I don't think the refresher course will be to bad.

how many miles one-way to the new job from your new place of residence...??

then too, ask the new company for help in locating an apartment of some sort, even a "trailer park" area that you can rent out a trailer and live there. let the new company know that you are commited to staying there. i'm sure the human resource person can help you. in fact, i'd be very surprised if there wasn't any bulletin board in the drivers/lounge area advertising living quarters..........
