Why? Because people disagree with Gone and you? That's not thin skinned that's called people disagree with you.

Are you aware that TTR has a policy concerning the criticism of other's writing skills?

I have to agree with you. Less than perfect spelling, etc I can deal with. The blatant lack of effort is annoying.

The education system has really screwed our younger generations up. It is actually acceptable for students to spell things how they sound, etc in school. This is directly from my three sons, ages 22, 19, and 16. My oldest isn't the greatest at written communications, but he does try. My younger two are better. Each of my boys is wired different. But, they all try! My youngest actually gets annoyed because of the lack of effort he sees in some of his classmates.

well, call it lack of effort or whatever you want to call it... I call it somebody pointing a finger and being a nit picking jackwagon... no pronunciation needed because I do not feel the need to pacify anybody

i don't make anybody's grammar or spelling worse... if that were the case then they need to cease social interaction for their mind is way too impressionable

Sorry TN...you took that post a bit too literally. All I was referring to that is going the direction of many of the political threads. I'll take the pointy stick, that's fine. I'm sure there are things that bug you too.

    Be safe.

Tolerance is a good thing. It makes for a much happier existance. It goes back to the age old addage: "If you don't have something go to say, then say nothing at all."

Throughout my brother's early life he was called stupid. He even had a teacher say he was retarded. Why? He was labeled that way because he couldn't read nor write with any skill at all. In fact each evening I would read his school books to him and he would listen. That's how my older brother was able to barely pass his classes. He grew up thinking he was stupid. He became a truck driver.

When he was in his late twenties and I was in my early twenties I learned about dyslexia. With my insistence he went for testing and we learned that was the problem. He then learned some skills that helped him improve but to this day it's not easy for him.

Oh. I should mention that my brother is a freaking millionaire. Yep. That's the one: the stupid one, the retarded one, the one who can't put a sentence together with proper grammar. He and his wife are millionaires. They didn't win it, they earned it and with his amazing ability of investment and business ventures he accrued it.

Now, me with the high IQ and the education: I'm driving a truck.

Oh I'll also mention that it was that same brother who taught me to read when I was three years old, and who took such great pride in my reading ability that he would have me perform for his friends. To this day he places more pride in my reading and writing ability than in his own financial accomplishments. He is the one who has saved in a scrap book every poem, story, newspaper article, anything he's aware of that I have written.

To those who feel that a person who can't write well has no business driving a truck: keep in mind my brother could buy and sell your ###. And he'd most likely make a profit.
