After I got to the shipper the broker sent me an app to carrier link and I thought what the heck ill sign up for it and let em track me , maybe they won't call me 10 times a day .
So I did and haven't heard from them since .

But, did you charge extra for that feature? if not, you should have.
My phones real estate is prime and my data plan is premium. Are they willing to pay $100 for that access?CaptainDaveG, Broke Down 69 and bzinger Thank this. -

Its a decent paying load and I have unlimited data so not concerned about that ..and no it's not TQL.
Well I guess Wel see if my fone rings in the morning lolBroke Down 69, wore out and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
I had a broker ask me if I'd agree to that on a load I was picking up on a Friday to deliver on Monday. I go home every night, and I'm off every weekend, and when I explained that there was no good reason for him to track my movement separate from the truck, he agreed and that was the end of it...otherwise my phone would've been ringing off the hook as I was running errands and heading every which way BUT the direction the load was supposed to be going...

It does not matter how "decent" rate the is, OR u have "unlimited data plan" OR it's TQL. It's the principle.
My position on this is simple: I have a tool that you want to use, you need to pay for using that tool. This item (truck OR phone) are my tools of trade, and each request of use, will trigger a service charge.
Your rationale is same as saying that the dealer should give you free computer diagnostics, since they already bought the truck diagnostics laptop anyway i.e. it's a sunk cost, and any incremental usage will not cost them anymore $. Try telling that to the dealer and see what the dealer says...LOLKB3MMX, p608, Broke Down 69 and 2 others Thank this. -

Macropoint is a popular tracking app.
Convoy brokerage has their own app for tracking. If the carrier uses from beginning to end of the load, they do a 2 day quickpay without charging any percentage.
I ran a load the other day for Knight Logistics and they requested using Macropoint. I figured since they paid me $850 for an easy 137 mile load, I'd oblige them.
Soon as I was done, I deleted the app.KB3MMX, Broke Down 69, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this.
