It's always a head scratcher when people zero in on one thing for being the cause of all the world's ills. It's hard to get all the data and considering the nuance of reality takes a fair few calories of mental work to get an accurate view. Racists blame race, and conservatives blame cities, but it's always so much more nuanced. It's a problem of tribalism, parental apathy/ignorance, poverty, anonymity of large populations, mental illness, both lax and harsh justice systems ironically, lack of social programs, etc. The list goes on of all the interconnecting issues that lead to crime.

In the case of the thief here it could be poverty leading to theft, or it could be culture of outsiders being allowable targets. It could be any number of other causes as well.

The woman deciding to run over the guy is a crime of passion to start, but the continued brutal attack once the threat was over was mental issues and anger.

The world is complicated and the prevalence of talking heads and political shortcuts to remove critical thinking is leading us all to hell.

But at the end of the day, if the guy wouldn’t have tried to steal a pocketbook he’d still be alive. All the trying to understand the mental process that led to this doesn’t change the fact that if he wouldn’t have stolen he’d be alive today. If you want to take the chance you better be willing to accept the consequences. Plenty of people are a ticking time bomb. Don’t do things that set them off. It doesn’t matter once your dead who was most at fault. Your six feet under because of your bad decision.

 

Nobody is wondering about the thief's circumstances. I'm not. I could care less about his sorry excuses. But this lady actually ruined her own life over a purse. She actually sealed her own fate by pyschopathically running back and forth with her car over the thief like she did. You can't do that in a civilized society. The prize she won is she's now a convicted criminal herself. She deserves what she got too she's a cold blooded killer.
