Softwood Lumber: Here we go again

Did you see what happened to the Loonie??

 

When you have a trade deficit then yes you are getting taken advantage of

 

Honestly, I understand the reasoning (make people buy American again) but the implementation is awful. We are the last neighbour they should be angering.

 

A lot of the big exporters of lumber in Canada are American companies who are pretty #### upset today.

 

Supply and demand, and when the demand is high the lumber will flow across the border and the consumer who is purchasing the end product will ultimately pay the tax, so in the end, it is the consumer who will get hurt with higher prices.

 

Of course they will manufacture it someplace else, it's cheaper that way, thanks to the horrible trade deals that's been brokered over the years

 

Trade deficit? I thought we bought and sold roughly the same amount to each other....
Gee I really feel like buying something made in America now..

 

He is trying to negotiate a better deal on the materials for that new wall?

 

Does Canada have a tariff on dairy from the US......?
