Some Flip Flop Wearing SOB smoked my mirror

Shouldn't be a problem unless theres a history. #### happens. Had it happen to me before.

 

If you have video footage it won't be a problem. They will probably commend you for driving safely.

 

Worked with a driver who had a car cross the center line and clip his steer tire then pinwheel down the side of his truck and trailer. The other driver claimed he was at fault. The cops pulled the truck's camera footage and his truck's ECM data and concluded that he was totally blameless and did exactly what was needed to avoid losing control while avoiding killing the other driver. It's amazing what they can determine from all the sensors modern day trucks are equipped with. And there is nothing going slow in a construction zone, especially as uneven and screwed up the pavement surfaces are nowadays.

 

I keep an eye on my mirrors when I’m approaching tight lanes or a situation like yours, what I do is either speed up so he stays behind me and slightly get on the line to let them know I’m there, OR, back out of it and let the idiot go by me before it gets to tight. Pick your poison.

 

Did you actually see the "flip-flops"? Mirrors always take a beating. Before mirrors were these complicated NASA offerings, and just the "West Coast" kind, many times I'd come out of a warehouse looking at the sky. I'd even go so far as to keep a spare mirror in the tool box. I suppose with the atrocities drivers cause today, you should be glad it's just a mirror.

 

Ive had my left side mirror ripped off a few times now including when parkes. Also had my right side mirror ripped off this year by a moron raggy passing me in one of those narrow "all trucks use left lane" areas when he came entirely over the line and left me a choice of hit barrier or lose mirror. And just last week had another raggy #### near cause a major wreck and clip my bumper good trying to get around me at the absolute last second going into a double barrier situation.

Not much you can do to control morons. Just drive the truck best you can to avoid the situation and where you cant, drive it correctly so the wreck is on them. If the company fires you for a moron being a moron. Find a better gig is all you can do. If they let you, keep the video as well so if the new company asks wtf you have ammo.
