If Apple created acceptable encryption to keep their customers' data safe then they wouldn't be able to break it. Which is a good thing.

 

The US Supreme Court has already ruled in 2 cases that searching a cell phone without a warrant is considered illegal search and seizure under our constitutional rights UNLESS the person possessing the phone has been CHARGED with a crime and evidence of said crime may be contained within the phone's memory. Won't be hard to beat, even if the offender is guilty.

I keep my phone locked. I would also as quickly as humanly possible gank another phone & use the find my iphone deal to brick my phone. Weigh the risk, if you killed someone destruction of evidence is prolly a better deal for you then the truth being found out.

Android phone are encrypted also. You can double check and see if your is not turned on. Unless you have the password I believe they are hard to hack into just like apple
